Today, year 5 went on a school trip to the park. They used their map skills to find their way around and visited as many places as they could.
This week, pupils began to use their art skills to draw rainforest designs onto the classroom wall. Over the next week pupils then painted it and will continue to add to it next week.

Today, pupils read a selection of recounts about UFO sightings. They had to work as a group to discuss the recounts and pick out the main features used.
Today, my maths group were putting their operation skills into practise by working out multi-step word problems.
This week, we are planning and writing a story based on the book we have been reading in our literacy groups. Today, my class played a game called ´Babble Gabble´ to help them remember what their story was about. They had to tell their learning partner what they had planned to write but only had 30 seconds to explain it, then they changed places.
Use the activity below to explore the different rainforests in the world. Today we started our rainforest topic. We discussed what we already knew about rainforests and then used maps to locate continents, oceans, Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and then the rainforests.
