This afternoon, we had to become historians. We looked at an old Victorian census and looked at what information we could find. The first census was from Buckingham Palace and even though Queen Victoria ruled the land, it was her husband, Albert, who was named as 'Head of the House'. The second census was from a less wealthy family and we studied their occupations.

Today, we completed a mental maths test based on things we have been learning in the Autumn term. We then used this to help us fill in our target sheets and show where we have progressed.
In Literacy today, we used 'The Lottie Project' and described one character from the book using compound sentences. We used our work from last lesson to help us.
Today in the library we chose a book and then we sat on the cushions reading the book that we chose. Gonzalo.
Today we have looked at Queen Victoria's family tree.We learned her about her grandfather, children and her death. Then we got a picture of Queen Victoria and her family and we had to interpret the picture and see what clues we could find. Pablo
Today in Maths, Mr Henderson shown us how to convert large fractions into decimals and explained the place value for each number. Then we completed some work in our books on understanding the place value of decimal numbers up to hundredths. For example, 24/100 = 0.24 and this has 2 tenths and 4 hundredths. Angela
Today in literacy we have been working with the book called The Lottie Project. We were skim reading for descriptive words or phrases about one of the main characters in the book and then wrote them in our books with the page number so we know where we found the information. From Elsa
We have been using our target sheets to self evaluate our work and help us know what our targets are.Today we sung a Christmas song on the radio for Solucar Radio, Sanlucar la Mayor. Then, we told Sara our names and what we enjoyed about the Christmas holidays. I thought it went well because everyone sang well and when talking on the radio they didn't hesitate. Today, we learnt how to use the internet to go to www.weebly.com. Then, we learnt how to log into our class blog. Finally, we commented on some of the previous posts Mr Henderson has posted.
Today we learnt about rounding numbers up to 1000. The teacher had been explaining what do we need to do and then we practised. We had a lot of fun rounding.
This month we are learning about the Victorians and we are reading this book.From Juan
